The Wonky Cycle Continues

Well, after a few days of reprieve (and great CM, by the way), AF is back. Yesterday it was light, and today it's light to moderate. Sigh. I have no idea what's going on, and I can't call my doctor until Tuesday, because she has really weird hours. I should have known AF was going to come back, because during the four days of not bleeding, I was super irritated and emotional. Boomz couldn't say anything without getting a look or me tearing up. It was bad! On top of the crazy cycle, I've been getting really discouraged about my hair again. It just keeps thinning and thinning, and I get really upset about it. I'm afraid to brush my hair because of how much falls out. On top of that, nobody I talk to believes me that so much is falling out because my hair is so long. I hear things like, "Girl, you have a ton of hair!" and "What are you talking about? I don't notice anything." My doctor even said that "these things happen" when you're going through "the change". Nothing helpful, there! When I was getting my hair done at my sister's wedding, the stylist mentioned a product called Nio.xin, which helped one of her other clients with hair loss. Have any of you ever heard of it? Most of the reviews are good, but I did read something about a few women losing hair after using it due to "operator error". I want to try it, but I'm scared to lose even more hair. What would y'all do?

I'm sorry this is such a boring post! These are the two things that have really been on my mind lately, so I just had to blog about it!

Sister's Wedding and Weird Cycle Stuff-TMI warning!

Hi everybody! :)

Sorry for the long absence-I was visiting my family for a week while Boomz was in Rome. Thank you all so much for the prayers for his safe travels! He got back around midnight last night. :)

My sister's wedding was...insane. The whole day was just full of craziness. I felt out of place the whole day because most of the bridal party were people I didn't know and they were all getting really drunk. My little brother was also in the bridal party and I kept getting angry that they were all being such horrible influences on the young people there (one of the bridesmaids was 13 or 14 and she was drinking). I went all Mama Bear on one of the groomsmen at one point, because I heard him yell, "Somebody Ice (insert brother's name here)". There was no way I was going to let them give my brother a Smir.noff, so I yelled, "NOBODY is going to Ice my brother!" My sister quickly whispered to me that there was another member of the bridal party with my brother's name, and I felt like a bit of an idiot. lol Later, I found out that one of the groomsmen gave my brother a rum and coke, and I was pretty upset. Thankfully, my dad took it away from him.

I felt very odd the entire day. The Mass was irreverently celebrated, which broke my heart. There were liturgical abuses galore. There was a fight at the reception, and everybody was wasted. It was really sad. I even had a little too much to drink, myself, but that was because I didn't eat enough and I couldn't taste the alcohol in my drink, which is always dangerous. lol I felt horrible the next morning, but mostly I was disappointed in myself. I haven't let myself get like that for years. Ugh.

On the up side: My sister looked gorgeous and the reception hall was beautifully decorated! And I got to see relatives that I only get to see about once a year, so that was great! :)

In other news, I'm having a really wonky cycle this month. I usually take estro.dial and prome.trium every month to mimic a normal woman's cycle, but this month I wanted to see if I could cycle on my own (plus, I needed to get my prescription refilled and it just never happened. lol). Well, on the 3rd (4 days early) I started having VL bleeding, which has continued almost this entire month. I had one or two moments when "making observations" after going to the bathroom where it was M-H, but it wasn't red. It was this weird pink-brown color. It's also very...thick. Like, I can pick it up and stretch it thick. I'm starting to get a little concerned, and I can't make it in to my NaPro doctor because she works far away. Do you have any idea what could be going on? I would really appreciate some help! :)

P.S. Is anybody else having issues with their Goo.gle Read.er with the blogs that have recently gone private? Their new posts aren't showing up!

Your Prayer Intentions, Please!

My lovely husband would like your prayer intentions for his pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi! Please comment or email me with your intentions! :)

Again, any prayers for safe travels would be greatly appreciated! Also, would you please pray for a little two-year-old boy in my parish who is having brain surgery this morning? Thank you all so much!

Help! :)

My sister's wedding is THIS WEEKEND and I'm the Matron of Honor and I still haven't written my speech. How awful is that? I just have zero clue about what to say. I keep trying to think of funny stories (my sister even texted me saying: "Your speech better be funny!" Ahhh!), but it's not working. The only stories I can think of are either horribly embarrassing or make me look like a brat. lol I don't really know the groom all that well, since I was living 3.5 hours away during their entire courtship, so I can't really poke fun at him. Do any of you have some advice about this kind of thing? I was thinking of just giving up on being funny and just giving them some short, practical marriage advice, but I can't think of any of THAT either! lol All of my advice comes from a religious perspective, and my sister and her fiance aren't religious, and neither are our families. Do you any of you have some practical, not-cliche marriage advice? I'm freaking out about all of this because I only have today and tomorrow to write it, because after that I'll be going home to help out with all of the wedding craziness.

I have a prayer request for y'all! My husband won't be attending the wedding because he will be going to a Theo.logy of the B.ody Symposium and pilgrimage in Rome and Assisi. We were both invited, but obviously it fell on the day of my sister's wedding and so I can't go, but my sister said she wouldn't mind if Boomz went, which was very gracious of her! :) Could you please pray for safe travels for him? I've got horrible thoughts running through my head about everything that could possibly happen to him while he's gone. What if the plane gets hijacked? What if the plane crashes? What if there's an earthquake? What if he meets a beautiful Italian woman and runs off with her and never comes home?! Just teasing about that last one, of course! ;) This will be the longest I've been away from him (nine days!) since we've been married. Please pray for him!

P.S. I'm so glad I'm back to blogging. I've missed you all! :)

I'm Alive!

Hello everybody! :)

I'm so, so sorry about the long blogging break (and with no notice, too!). I'm honestly not sure why I stopped, but I think it's been healthy for me.  I think I've been focusing less on myself and my issues, which has been nice. I haven't stopped reading everybody, though! I couldn't comment (even anonymously) for some reason when I used Windows, but now that I'm using a Mac everything seems okay.

So, what have I been up to, you ask? Well, in September, I had an appointment with an endocrinologist, who was a total jerk, but he did a ton of tests, including adrenals and thyroid stuff.  As usual, all of my levels came back normal, except for my FSH and LH. My FSH was 151, which is pretty normal for me, but insanely high for normal women. I had an MRI done on my brain to check for a pituitary tumor, and that also came back normal. I felt so bad for the poor women who were doing my MRI...I was freaking out the entire time! I went in there thinking I would be in a hospital gown (like on Hous.e!), because if I went in the MRI room wearing metal things would fly across the room and everything would be disastrous (like on Hous.e!). Well, they let me keep ALL of my metal on, except for my glasses, and that made me extremely nervous. No matter how many times they told me that I was fine, I didn't believe them. Then, the MRI was shaking and making all sorts of insane noises, and I was convinced it was because of my belt. lol In the middle of all of this, I had to get an injection of dye, which made everything worse because I hate needles. I know this all sounds silly, but I was just really nervous about the whole thing! The news about the lack-of pituitary tumor was bittersweet, because I was really hoping for some kind of quick fix for my infertility, but I was also terrified of having to have surgery.

The endocrinologist also did an ultrasound on my thyroid, and found nothing except that right side is larger than the left. So my final diagnosis is Prema.ture Ova.rian Fai.lure. I've known since I was in high school that I might not be able to have children, but I'm still struggling against despair. The "I will NEVER be pregnant," thoughts run through my head quite often, but I try to push them away and accept God's will as best I can right now. Every once and awhile I'll have moments of peace, which I'm very grateful for.  I hope I'll be a mother someday, but I know that my ultimate fulfilment is in Him.

Well, this post is already too long so I'm going to stop for now! Thank you all for putting up with my blogging break!

Final Update on the Prayer Request

Sorry I didn't update all day today, I haven't been home at all.

Baby Cam passed away last night in his parents' arms. They aren't Catholic, but they had the baby baptized before he died, praise be to God. The doctors apparently said when he was born that there was "a little something in his brain" (to quote my sister), but they said it was nothing to worry about. They had him on some medicine to try to stop the bleeding, but it wasn't working and they wouldn't up the dosage because he was so small.

My cousin and his wife decided not to have a funeral for Baby Cam. They're going to have him cremated and then spread his ashes over their grandparents' graves.

Thank you all so much for praying. My heart is really hurting about this whole situation, and I just can't imagine how his parents feel. Please keep C and A in your prayers.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST! **Updated**

My cousin's wife A had her baby at 24 weeks, and the baby has been doing okay up until today. Now, the baby's brain is bleeding and the doctors have given up hope for him. Please, please pray for a miracle!

Update: My mom sent me a text saying that the baby's parents are going to the hospital tonight to "say goodbye" to him. If he lives, he would be blind in his left eye, paralyzed on his left side, and mentally handicapped. Yesterday, A and C were told that they had "a choice to make", and it seems like they're just going to let the baby die (I say "seems like" because I don't know the whole situation yet). They haven't tried surgery or anything. Please continue to pray for a miracle.
